Six Weeks
The embryo pattern comes from the mammary ridge. It appears around the sixth week of embryonic development, when 6–8 pairs of breast-like buds form densely along a linear band.
This embroidery took a long process of sketching and testing fabrics and threads. Out of more than a dozen materials, I settled on red organza — soft, resistant to creasing, and well suited for embroidery.
Mulberry silk has a natural sheen. While embroidering, I layered multiple strands of silk thread so they cluster and curl, hiding the stitches inside. This makes the pattern look almost raised above the surface of the organza.
Special thanks to photographer: @Bonsai Peng for documenting the work.
